Follow the steps below carefully to make sure your audition is a smash hit!

🎭 Musical Theatre Scholarship
Please submit two videos:
1. Singing 🎤
Submit a video of you singing a song of your choice. We want to see you performing the song as well as singing it, so think about character, expression and telling the story!2. Acting OR Dance 🎬💃
For your second video, choose whichever best shows off your strengths:Acting: Perform a scene or monologue of your choice.
Dance: Perform a dance of your choice, in any style.
Your audition pieces can be something you already know and love or something you've learnt especially for your audition.
You don't need professional equipment or a professionally filmed self-tape. A clear video filmed on a phone or tablet is absolutely fine — we're interested in seeing you and what you can do!
Spend time practising your script and song!
Say them out loud, sing them in front of a mirror, and most importantly—have fun with it!

Choose pieces that you enjoy performing and that show us what you can do. Most importantly, let your personality shine through!

Once you’ve chosen your audition pieces, and practised, it’s time to film!
🎬 Film Your Audition
Here’s how to make it look fantastic:
✅ Film in landscape (that means your phone or camera should be sideways)
✅ Use a plain background if you can—like a wall or curtain
✅ Make sure your head and shoulders are clearly visible for acting and singing. Make sure your whole body is visible for dance.
✅ Ask a grown-up, sibling, or friend to read any other lines off-camera so you can respond to them
✅ Remember to react and listen, not just say your lines!🎤 Add a Little “Ident”
This just means saying who you are at the start of your video.
🎙️ Example:“Hi, my name is Amy and I’m auditioning for Musical Theatre!”
It’s a lovely way to introduce yourself with a smile 😊
📁 Separate Videos Please!
If you're auditioning for more than one course, please send a separate video for each one.
That helps us stay super organised and makes sure we see all your brilliant work!👋 Make it clear who you are and what you’re auditing for in the accompanying message. Don’t forget to include your full name in the message so we can find your audition easily.

TOP TIPS for a Superstar Self-Tape:
🌟 Make sure the room is quiet—turn off the TV and ask people to shhh!
🌟 Use good lighting—stand near a window or lamp so we can see your lovely face

🌟 Be yourself and have fun—your personality is the best part!
🌟 Check the video before you send it—make sure you're happy with it!🌟 Remember, the WestWay team is supporting you every step of the way! We can’t wait to see you shine
