Performing Arts Scholarships for Children in South West London
At WestWay School of Performing Arts, we're passionate about making high-quality performing arts education accessible to children from all backgrounds.
We understand that the cost of extracurricular activities can be a barrier for families. Equally, we recognise that some children demonstrate a natural talent for performing and would benefit from opportunities to develop their abilities.
That's why we offer two types of performing arts scholarship.
Financial Assistance Scholarships
We offer full and partial scholarships for families who may benefit from financial support with their child's performing arts education.
Applications are assessed based on individual financial circumstances, and awards are subject to availability.
We understand that every family's situation is different, and we encourage parents and guardians to get in touch to discuss the opportunities available.
Talent-Based Performing Arts Scholarships
We also offer scholarships to children who demonstrate performing arts potential through an audition.
Previous training is not necessarily required!
We recognise that natural ability, enthusiasm and potential can be just as important as formal experience.
Our talent-based scholarships provide opportunities for young performers to develop their skills with experienced teachers and industry professionals.
Both scholarship routes are open to children aged 3–18, subject to availability.
What Can Children Learn at WestWay?
Our Southfields & Earlsfield venue offers a range of exciting performing arts classes, designed to help children develop their abilities while building confidence, creativity and friendships.
Musical Theatre Classes for Children
Our Musical Theatre classes combine acting, singing and dancing, giving children the opportunity to develop their skills across all three disciplines.
Students learn choreography, explore characters, develop their voices and work together towards exciting performances.
Whether they're complete beginners or aspiring professional performers, our students are encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate their achievements and support one another.
Street Dance Classes for Children and Teenagers
Does your child love dancing?
Our children's Street Dance classes in Southfields are energetic, creative and full of fun!
Students develop rhythm, coordination, musicality and performance skills while learning exciting choreography in a supportive environment.
Street Dance is also a fantastic way for children to build confidence, express their individuality, make friends and enjoy being active.
Our Street Dance classes welcome different levels of experience, helping young dancers develop their skills and discover their individual style.
Acting Classes for Children and Teenagers
Our Acting for Stage & Screen classes encourage children to use their imaginations, explore different characters and develop their communication skills.
Through acting exercises, improvisation, script work and creative activities, students build confidence expressing themselves and working with others.
Acting can be particularly valuable for children who are shy, helping them develop their voice and feel more comfortable communicating in different situations.
And, of course, it's a wonderful opportunity to have fun!
Why Are Performing Arts Classes Important for Children?
The benefits of performing arts education extend far beyond the stage.
Participating in drama, dance and musical theatre can help children develop:
Confidence and self-esteem: Celebrating achievements and learning to express themselves.
Communication skills: Developing the confidence to speak, listen and collaborate.
Creativity and imagination: Exploring new ideas, characters and ways of expressing themselves.
Teamwork and friendships: Working towards shared goals and building meaningful connections.
Resilience: Learning to practise, receive constructive feedback and persevere.
Physical coordination: Developing movement, musicality and body awareness through dance.
For some children, performing arts becomes a lifelong passion. For others, it's a place where they can make friends, feel a sense of belonging and discover what they're capable of.
Both are equally valuable.
